Take the Plunge!
In 2018 students and staff at Ft. Zumwalt West Middle School took on the challenge of being the first Middle School in Missouri to host our own Polar Plunge to support over 7,400 Special Olympics athletes in
the St. Louis area. Our goal was to raise $20,000 and we blew that out of the icy cold water, raising over $28,000

Aim high in 2019!
WMS is raising the bar in 2019 with a goal of $50,000 to support St. Louis area Special Olympic athletes!

Who: The Polar Plunge is open to all WMS students and staff

What: WMS Annual Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Missouri

When: Thursday, December 19, 2019 Where: Ft. Zumwalt West Middle School track (there will be a pool!)

Why: All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Missouri’s mission to provide year-round sports and training opportunities, health screenings, and ongoing education for individuals with intellectual disabilities in the St. Louis area.

How: Raise a minimum of $50 and take the Plunge. All participants who raise a minimum of $50 will receive a 2019 WMS Plunge t-shirt and be eligible to take the Plunge. Take your fundraising to new heights to earn more Polar Plunge goodies.

What to Wear / Bring:

-wear a swimming suit or shorts and shoes (required).  Sandals and flip flops are NOT recommended.

-a complete change of clothing (including shoes) for afterward

-towel(s)

-DO NOT wear your glasses…

-The locker rooms will be available as a changing area before and after your plunge but my recommendation for arriving prepared is to wear the clothing you plan to wear into the water under the clothing you plan to change into after the plunge.  This will make your pre plunge preparation go much smoother.

-Ms. McGillycuddy will be our official photographer so be looking for her and be ready to smile.

-After plunging, students will go immediately inside through the small gym in order to change.
